rehmwa 2 #26 December 13, 2010 Just to make things interesting - if all handles are pulled and still nothing is happening - time permitting we should all try to put the cables and handles back and then put our helmets on backwards - just to keep the crowd guessing - and to stay busy those last few seconds ... councilman24 37 #28 December 13, 2010 Ground rush at terminal at 350' is a bitch. I was there with a reserve total that cleared itself in time for the lopo to be open at 300'. Pulled it at 1700'. Did a lot of stuff inbetween that didn't work. Can you say Struggle Struggle Thu...! Hmm... maybe that's why I have no desire to do BASE? But the BASE wingsuit stuff does look cool. BTW with one of the two fatalities I've investigated it took about 5 hours to find the guy, and we knew he went in. About one square mile of woods and swamp. Finally a sherrif's deputies HORSE found him. About where we though he should be. 10 feet over he would have went to the bottom of the swamp. Probably would have need a cadaver dog for that hunt. Delay made no difference to no canopy out impact. No AAD, late 80's, and only handle not in place was his cutaway handle, never found. I believe he lost altitude awareness, started emergency procedures when he realized he was low, and pull the only handle that wouldn't save his life. (with an always pull the cutaway emergency procedure). I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
Krip 2 #29 December 14, 2010 Hi NG Took the CPR refresher class two years ago at the local FD. Found out No puffing required just 60 compressions/minute and don't stop just because you get tired. We were practicing on the CPR dummies so we had to pump hard to get compression. I think I was good for two minutesA CPR refresher is well worth the time. Our local FD does it for free and will schedual a class for 10 or more people. We lurked the FD and got in a class in about 2 weeks. Might be someting to consider for safety day at the DZ. I would never forgive you for bringing me back to life as a vegetable. There ARE fates worse than death. A few of us at Perris had a pact. If we went in with nothing out and were making gurgling noises. Just put your had over my mouth and nose and please finish the job.Dom
shah269 0 #33 December 15, 2010 I hate to say it but that's why I don't have my parents as an emergency contact. I couldn't trust them with making the right choice. But really, if you went in from 14k.....you aren't going to make it. Hell odds are you aren't even going to feel it! See it...maybe. Feel it? Probably not. I don't think nerve impulses move that fast. But I don't know, I know why people do it. I just don't think I could do that to my friends. Having them worry and then go looking for me? I never wanted to be the one to spoil the party.Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. The only thing that falls from the sky is birdshit and fools!

He lived and walked a year later. Even made another jump. HE wasn't gurgling though. Im not a doctor, but you can tell when someone isnt going to make it most of the time. If I have blood coming out my ears, nose and mouth...dont wast yer time. Just end it for me. As long as ya wont get caught. I really wouldn't want to be in a wheelchair pissing and shitting in a bag and needing help breathing or something. But I don't know, I know why people do it. If you try to kill yourself at everyone's favorite playground, well that's just being an ass.Dom
 Prev 1 2 Next Page 2 of 2 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
