Hey, it's 8:45 pm, West coast time, and none of you East coast peeps have kicked this off, so here I go.




3 = 3 RW loads at Kapowsin today, full altitude and not too cold. I didn't even frost up my visor this weekend. Had a great time cranking some points.

? = After a funnel and a rebuild on the last dive, I brainlocked two points later . . . and I was the load organizer. But I don't think I owe beer, 'cause this sure as hell isn't the first time I've skipped a point or two.

not married to Vskydiver but still no jumpin', winds were honkin'
40 was the average wind speed in miles per hour this weekend, with some snow/ice in it.
also had a great saturday night at the Young Gods concert. I just love them (for over 20 years)

Great weekend for jumps, but jump funds were limited.

Great DZ staff christmass party Sat. night. I was amazed how well skydivers can clean up...and they smelled good too!

While I don't owe beers I do owe someone a new rubermaid storage bin after falling into and getting stuck in theirs in the bed of their truck.

All round it was a great weekend. Now I'm just trying to figure out what if anything I'm going to do for jump 100.

We had our Christmas party Saturday night too. What a great time. Yep, it's cool seeing all the jumpers dressed up like grown ups. We even had a celebrity show up to our party. Here he is.

Skydive Houston

Last weekend of operation at their old location in Waller, before moving to a new site in Eagle Lake. The last load of the weekend, and last load ever for that drop zone location, was a 20-way TeXXas star, consisting mostly of old-timers who have been jumping there the longest.

BBQ dinner Saturday night was provided by the Eagle Lake Chamber of Commerce, as a welcome gift to their new skydivers.

Huge bonfire, kicked off with a dozen boxes of fire-starter logs. Late into the night, old wood structures that were not being taken to the new location, like the Otter exit mock-up, were pulled apart and thrown into the fire.

I've been jumping there since it opened 17 years ago, and have made over 3,000 jumps at that location. I'm gonna miss it. But we're moving on to a bigger and better place.

Skydive Houston will re-open on January 1st in Eagle Lake.

Does Thursday count? I managed to get one jump and landed in the mud! Yuck! It was still fun though. I'll take what I can get in the winter. I should have some nice numbers soon, though. I'm heading to Eloy the day after Christmas
