Airviking 0 #51 December 22, 2010 I've quit successfully several times in my life. Each time, 2 things were key: 1. Commitment. Without it, it doesn't matter what you do, buy, use, listen to. (I got angry, was sick of being a slave to friggin cigarettes, and I could see how much better my life would be without them.) 2. Confront the craving head-on. When the craving hits you, don't panic. Stop and really feel it, and you will realize that you are way stronger than it is. (It's all just bullshit!) Drink a glass of water, and the craving will soon pass. Stay out of smoke-filled bars for a while. I found that if I didn't think of quitting as a process, it was a lot easier. The act of quitting is instantaneous and happens the second you decide to be a non-smoker.I believe you have my stapler.

Amazon's plan is actually a pretty good one and something I kind of did once. Did a two week backpacking trip in the North Cascades and only took one pack of cigs which was mainly for the couple nights we were in Seattle beforehand. Went with two non-smokers as well and it was easy quitting. I quit for two months, then I went to a smoke filled bar and got a little drunk and started back up. I took Chantix once too but had a bad reaction to it. I got severely depressed and had suicidal ideations. Immediately quit and it went away after a couple weeks. Good luck to you, it does work quite well some for people I know that have taken it.

The thought of being trapped in a snow cave with her when she is quitting smoking, sends shivers down my spine."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Not allowed to reply!BUT, as for staying out of bars part, the only reason I had to, was that every time I had a beer, I had a cigerrete,,,they just went together.. 2 weeks after quiting, I went to a bar, I got in the bloodiest fights I had been in since I was a teen...I was covered in blood passt my waste...I rode home from the fight, straight threw my front door, My wife freaked, started cleaning me up...Not a cut on me, other than torn knuckles!Long story short, stay away form bars for at least 4 weeks, IMO! your fuse may be too short for public! Skootz 0 #55 December 22, 2010 Good job Vader!!! I quit again too along with Clay after Prairie. Chantix is an amazing drug. I only had good dreams while I was on it.....and I could remember EVERY detail. Had a funny dream about Pixar sheep that go meep when I touched their blue, green and purple noses. Still one of the best (non-sex) dream of my life. Good luck quitting!!!

Did your car accident have anything to do w/your extreme urge to rip someone's head off (from quitting that week)???
