Squeak 17 #2 March 22, 2005 Just pack it in a plastic bag (in case the box breaksor gets wet) then in a box, with padding of some sort. As long as the CYPRES is not tunred on it won't be a problemYou are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing? EricaH 0 #3 March 22, 2005 exactly what squeak said. I always send UPS & insure for what replacement value is: Cypress $1300 Container $a lot - make sure it's the value of a replacement, all I know is a new mirage g4 w/ all the bling & no discounts is over $2300. Main $xxx (new version of your canopy) reserve $xxx (value same as main) some people value @ what they could find gear - that's not what insurance is for it's for replacement w/ new gear. There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear. PMS #227 (just like the TV show)

You might consider FedEx. I have had issues with UPS where they have left things outside my door without requiring a signature and where anyone could have walked up and taken them. Never had this problem with FedEx."Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
Daizey 0 #5 March 22, 2005 I have had similar problems with fed ex...only they didn't leave it outside the door, they left it in the driveway by the steps leading up to the porch when noone was home Luckily nothing happened to it. This was the one and only time it has happened to me with Fed Ex though... *daizey*

I had this *exact* problem with UPS when my Mirage was sent out. UPS left my brand new container sitting outside my door for 1.5 weeks while I was away on vacation! Since you are personally shipping it, either company will allow you to request signature confirmation upon delivery. Then you know there is a human being accepting the rig. btw, whatever you do, don't use the US Postal Service. Their past history of insurance claims is quite sub-par. I got a strong urge to fly, but I got no where to fly to. -PF
GravityGirl 0 #7 March 23, 2005 Pack in a plastic garbage bag. Make sure your put an extra piece of cardboard along the seam. When the receipient opens it with a knife, you don't want them cutting through the rig. Pack in a snug fitting box. Cypres packed in the rig is protected by the rig. If it is not assembled, then take extra care packing the cypres in bubble wrap or something similar. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
