dragon2 2 #1 December 28, 2010 So, this afternoon this itty bitty cat walked into my house. I live in an apartment building, it was in front of my door when I opened it. No idea who it belongs to. The door to the apartment building was closed at that time. It's quite cold here ATM, snow on the ground, and it's dark out now. I tried putting the cat outside but it acts like an indoor cat, with no clue where to go, and passing cars elicit much interest. Brought it back in... My own 2 cats don't seem to like this one much (growl at first sight LOL), so I put it in the hallway/kitchen for the time being. It seems to be able to open doors though It's friendly if slightly nervous towards me, a people cat for sure. Now, do I kick it out or keep it for now? ciel bleu, Saskia
LisaH 0 #2 December 28, 2010 Keep it for now and put up a 'found cat' flyer. Be yourself! MooOOooOoo
wolfriverjoe 1,523 #3 December 28, 2010 Don't kick it out, it will more than likely die. If you aren't willing to find it a home or give it a home, take it to a shelter. You might put the word out to your neighbors. Although it was more than likely dumped, it is possible that it was a Chrismas pet that escaped. If you are willing to give it a try, there are various techniques to intorduce it to your current housemates. Basically you keep them in seperate areas, but switch them back and forth so they can get used to the other's scent. After a short while, they will be curious enough about who is making the scent to forget about the territory issues."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." turtlespeed 226 #4 December 28, 2010 Tie him in the position of all four legs straight out. Put him in th freezer (Don't forget to hook his tail- usually about 1/2 way through the freezing) when he is 75% frozen, insert a coat hanger into the furr where it cannot be seen Hang on back of any door for two days door. Rigormortis will take over and in 2 days you have a brand new coat rack. I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

skymama 37 #6 December 28, 2010 Awww, don't put it outside in the snow. It'd be great if you could put up a few flyers as suggested and wait to see if someone calls. Just think of the cats growling at each other as free entertainment. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
dgskydive 0 #7 December 28, 2010 QuoteThe door to the apartment building was closed at that time Happened to me last year. If the door to your building was closed. I bet ya its a neighbors. Put up a sign in your building. They will claim it. Well, maybe the Coon can get lucky It's a cute little thing. But I can't keep it anyway, I have a small apartment and 2 big cats (a Coon and a Weggie). I'll start making some calls tomorrow, she (?) can sleep here tonight ciel bleu, Saskia

They do what they want and if you are ok with it than great. if not well too bad.Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay.
