Shannon, 27, took a shot during Wednesday night’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes that deflected out of play and hit one spectator that he was not counting on — his wife. “When I hit the crossbar, the puck went over the netting and landed on my wife’s lap,” Shannon said of his shot during the third period of Wednesday night’s 4-0 loss to the Canes. “She’s got a bruise on her left thigh. She was pissed off. She’s like, ‘I’ve got a bone to pick with you.’” What were the odds? Probably about one in 19,153 — the capacity at Scotiabank Place, home of the Senators.
