Twoply 0 #1 January 14, 2011 I have a NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 video card in my pc. I want a big 28" or larger monitor for my pc. Can I use a new Lcd hd tv for a monitor? If so, what outputs or input amounts do I look for?
regulator 0 #2 January 14, 2011 Just use the HDMI outputs from the video card. I just bought a new alienware computer when my wife and myself won ten grand at the casino. My computer has two 24 inch monitors...I use the DVI outputs, but my video cards (I have dual ATI Radeon 5870's running in CrossfireX mode and they look so good it makes you wanna slap your momma. regulator 0 #3 January 14, 2011 so you can use the TV as a montor...But I'd suggest using it as a secondary monitor. The max resolution youd get out of a TV is 1920 X 1080. Not that that's bad by any stretch, but when you use DVI it automatically adjusts each time you turn the computer on and I never have to touch my monitors because they are using the DVI interface. The TV is good...but Id use is as a secondary monitor and get a fat primary monitor...but most of them are pretty expensive...I bought two 24 inch monitors for the price of one massive one...mine were around 550 each. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Displays/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=320-8277
dragon2 2 #4 January 14, 2011 You can use a lcd (or plasma or led) TV as a monitor, no problem. Most tvs can connect to a pc these days, using either VGA, DVI or HDMI ports. Look what port you have on your card and match that to a TV (DVI or HDMI is better than using VGA). Resolution should be the same (1920x1080 px), I think, but you'd have to buy a full HD TV (not HD ready). ciel bleu, Saskia
