regulator 0 #1 January 14, 2011 http://rawjustice.com/2011/01/14/pilot-uses-police-chopper-to-run-personal-errand/ It comes as no surprise that officers may sometimes use police vehicles to run personal errands. However, the vehicles used are usually cars, not helicopters. Pilot David Dennison pushed the envelope by actually using a Tampa police helicopter to drop a fishing net off to a friend. Dennison has worked for the Tampa Police Department since 2000 and has been a pilot for the department since 2002. When he was caught making the unauthorized flight, he admitted doing it. Honestly, there’s not really a lie or excuse that would have worked. He has been suspended for five days without pay for the misuse of police equipment.
