For me, watching these shows is like being repeatedly slapped in the face for an hour (or however long they last - in truth I never make it beyond about five minutes). The whole thing just seems so cynical - we're going to feed you this pap, spice it up with some fake drama among the charmless judges, make a fortune from your phone votes and then fleece you all over again by selling you crap records that you only buy because you saw these people on TV.
