Jack LaLanne~ RIP

He said once something to the effect of "I can't afford to die...it would be bad for my image."

We're old enough to remember those B & W tv shows.

I saw him once on Catalina Island, he had just completed a swim there FROM L.A.

I think he was about 70 then and during the interview at the shoreline he was saying how he used to made the swim towing row boats...when he was younger! B|

RIP -

He certainly changed the way a portion of the populace thinks about health.

He also changed the way a larger portion of the populace thought about health and then promptly ignored and went to fast food places and couch stores.

at least some paid attention

He even towed one boat, with arms and legs shackled.

He once did something like 2,000 push ups on a morning talk show.

But it goes to show, eat healthy, exercise, die anyway. But after 95 years, you probably deserve a rest.

He always seemed like the real deal.

Jack passed away Sunday, he was 96 years young!

I read where he was STILL working out two hours a day...an inspiration to say the least!

Come on... fess up.. you first ran across him in the ads at the back of comic books;)

Somebody mentioned the big white dog up thread...brought back fond memories, I think he was on WGN back in the black & white days, I recall watching while my mom did the workouts. B|
