airdvr 210 #1 February 1, 2011 Lately I've noticed a trend that is a bit disturbing. People call us requesting quotes on trips. We'll log on to our supplier's sites and get the info. Seems like almost every time we go back and look at the trip we quoted the price has increased. My question is could the supplier know what we've looked at before and raise the price when it sees us looking again? Please don't dent the planet. But just because it's possible, and pretty easy most of the time, doesn't mean they're doing it."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

PiLFy 3 #5 February 1, 2011 "My question is could the supplier know what we've looked at before..." Absolutely. It's basic Internet marketing. Just look @your Amazon account. Your previous searches are posted right in front of you. Further, you'll get periodic "Offers" e-mailed to you, based on the products you've recently researched. "...and raise the price when it sees us looking again?" It's possible. I've never seen that. A price-bump program could be added to the site. You didn't say. Suppliers of what? PiLFy 3 #7 February 1, 2011 Volatile markets. It's certainly possible that they're bumping the price up based on viewing history. Try Mama's idea. Look around w/a few friend's PCs.
d100965 0 #8 February 1, 2011 I think you may be onto something here... I've been convinced for a long while that this is exactly what is happening when you book flights with Easyjet and Ryanair!
