wmw999 2,588 #1 March 3, 2011 I'm working on a project where the team has to log onto a system overseas, and we're having incredibly bad connection issues (multiple drops and hangs). It's unproductive. The system works just fine for the locals, and even though we normally have problems when were in-country (but not onsite), we didn't when we had our counterparts come help us with problem determination . Lots of political considerations -- I'm hoping someone out there in dz.com-land knows everything there is to know about VPN (Nortel client) and can help. There's jumps in it for you... PM me. Wendy P.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. Electronaut 0 #3 March 3, 2011 I doubt you know, but is it PPTP, IPsec or SSL based? Certain VPN technologies are shitty connection sensitive as part of their security measures and some are a little bit more resilient. Don't have experience with Nortel. Also, are they allowing you to split tunnel or forcing everything from your desktops over the VPN? Going to split tunnel could help. Also, are you connecting to a remote desktop or doing something more intense such as accessing a DB at the system overseas from your desktops here?
