48 on the right

Recommended Posts

Drove to and from Nashville this week. Mostly I 40. I had to pass 48 cars on the right hand side. 45 were women. 2 of the women and one of the men get a bye because we were near an exit and they may have been keeping the right lane open for merging traffic. That leaves 43 chicks tooling down the left lane with their heads up their rear ends impeding the flow of traffic.

Shame.

All I can think of is the Rush Hour app I have on my new iPhone. Apparently I am an "expert", but it is easy for a mild OCD'er like me: The red car does not belong. Get the red car out.

And so I get the red car out every time in near-perfect number of moves.

And when I do, music plays and all is right in the world again. And I am happy...

And then I hit "next" and the red car is back. >:( And, again, I must get the red car out.

I love the game, except for me, the pink car will always be the one that does not belong. I hate pink. But, I only win if I get the red car out, so I get the red car out.

:P

Were they traveling at the speed limit?
If so their position on the road should be of no consequence.
If they were, GTFOI and don't speed and endanger other road users.

You're arguing that 2 wrongs make a right (!)

In most states here, the rule on a highway is to keep right unless passing. The left lane isn't supposed to be a cruising lane.

What? You expect drivers to actually read those signs?
-Keep right except to pass
-Slower traffic keep right

It's really simple people...

1. Look to your right.
2. If cars are passing you, move over one lane to your right.
3. Go to step 1.
My reality and yours are quite different.

Is it a mandated law to keep right, the speed limits are LAW.
Here in OZ the Keep Left is not mandated. the speed limits are.

Took a while...wide load flashing light truck behind him....:)

Hopefully he's not on I-10 in a few days... I'd hate to have to get stuck behind the 2 lane wide truck!

You can also get fined for not following the flow of traffic.

WOW

only one of those seems to imply you have to move if traffic is speeding.

Virginia slower* 46.2-804(1) 46.2-842.1 requires vehicles in the left lane to yield to faster traffic; State Police say this applies even when faster traffic is speeding.

don't know where you got that but here in NJ it is the law to keep right unless passing, and sometimes they do crack down.

Because it can get you killed driving slow in the fast lane in Jersey when everyone else is doing 85+ People from out of state do the speed limit (65) in the fast lane for some reason. A lot of accidents I've seen on the highways had out of state plates, sadly a lot are fatal. Jersians respect and understand that we have fast and slow lanes. When the cops don't care if you do around 20 over the speed limit, we will do it and we do it safely. If you don't want to with the flow, go to the right lane and keep yourself and others safe. Were in a hurry going nowhere and we need to get there as fast as we can:D

I've driven across country many times (live in CA) and its seems most states people don't understand the fast and slow lanes, except for the truck drivers.
