turtlespeed 226 #1 March 14, 2011 I was just amazed by a phone call. I have lost my voice (probably a good thing) and it hurts pretty bad to try to talk (Thank God I can type - sort of) SO . . . I relay this situation to this person ca;lliin because, well, because I have lost my voice and it hurts pretty bad to try to talk. It took 4 times to get the information understood, and I was sore and a little irritated that it took so long to get thhe message through. Let me digress just a bit. My Grandfather, who is extremely hard of hearing, and I had just seen 45 to an hour prior, who KNOWS that my voice hurts and it is uncomfortable to talk, called me and rapid fired a bunch of innocuous, small talk questions, to which he could not understand the answers. Again, I'll reiterate, because I JUST SAW, AND TALKED TO HIM AN HOUR BEFORE! Anyway, It was, like I mentioned, several questions like, 'who do you think will win the game', "have you been watching the weather', 'what are you having for dinner'. Unimortant innoculous questions. The result of this conversation is that he couldn't hear my answers and that I was getting off the phone because it hurts to talk. OK, he says, and hangs up. 10 minutes later, the second phone call comes. Directly after I finished the explaining of the situation, I hear, "OH! You mean it hurts to talk?" I say "Yes." Then the questions start. after 7 questions in a row, to which I remained silent and awestruck, I say, "My voice hurts." Caller says "I know, it's terrible!" and then continues on and goes on with yet ANOTHER list of questions. (Actually, same questions, just in a different order. (This is the good part) She says, "Why won't you answer me?" I told them I couldn't email because I HAD NO CONNECTION. They told me to go to the FAQ section of their website. I hung up. If it hurts you to talk, why are you even answering the phone??? I have the ringers shut off on all my home phones, so I'm not even aware of a call until the answering machine picks it up. Once they start to leave a message, I pick it up if it is someone I want to talk to.
