iluvtofly 0 #1 March 15, 2011 So I work in accounts receivable for an urgent care company. I love how insurance companies and other businesses feel they are helping the environment and "going green" by paying us online. Little do they realize we still have to print everything out on our end for people like myself to input it in the system. I have a 6 inch stack of paper in front of me from companies who think they're "going green". It's pretty comical.
billeisele 130 #2 March 15, 2011 sounds like the problem is on your end well not your end but your companies end I mean I'm sure you have a nice end since the front looks so nice :)Give one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
iluvtofly 0 #3 March 15, 2011 Well we're a decent sized company. Have about a hundred clinics in a dozen different states throughout the country. Granted I have only been here about 8 months, but I don't see another way of doing it. We have to have both electronic and paper records of all the payments we receive. Oh...and thanks. wmw999 2,589 #4 March 15, 2011 Well, the postage costs are eliminated, as is impact of all those mail trucks (yes, they'd run anyway, but keep cutting it down and they won't). Also the envelopes go away. I agree that it seems kind of silly that you have to have physical copies of the checks in your records. Wendy P.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. MX304 0 #5 March 15, 2011 It sounds like your company needs to invest in some dual monitor setups on your computers. View on one screen, and input on the other. That's what we did, and it saved a HUGE bunch of $$$ by cutting our paper usage by 2/3.
hokierower 0 #6 March 15, 2011 I completely understand. I go through so much paper on a daily basis it's almost unethical, but commercial construction for the federal government requires a lot of paper because of all the copies and backup copies to cover you ass in case someone decides to get frisky along the way. The funniest thing is that attached to each of our (my companies) signatures, there's a little blurb that says " Please consider your responsibility to the environment before printing this e-mail." It's frickin hilarious sometimes.
BIGUN 1,488 #7 March 15, 2011 Careful... It's pretty easy these days to import a form directly into a database and eliminate your job. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PAGE! with nothing else on it. As shown by the reports my boss have run which show that I access more accounts, handle more checks and money than anyone else in my department and that's WHILE posting on dz.com

Every so often someone will come and try to tell me I did something wrong but I'll show them why I did it and their foot is instant inserted into their mouth.
