NWFlyer 2 #1 March 14, 2011 I know there's a lot of folks looking for work these days; I think this is one of the best overall articles I've read on job hunting and all the stuff people should do but don't (or shouldn't do and do). The third tip in particular is pure gold. http://www.wisebread.com/how-to-avoid-getting-hired"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. popsjumper 2 #2 March 15, 2011 Never fart if you're in a 1-on-1 interview. You BOTH know who did it.My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239
dragon2 2 #3 March 15, 2011 I once got into an argument with a potential employer about which province my home town was in I'm pretty sure I know where I live, but the interviewer was adamant I lived somewhere else. I gave in after 2 tries, but didn't get the job ciel bleu, Saskia
NWFlyer 2 #4 March 15, 2011 Oh, yeah, there is an immense amount of stupidity on the hiring side as well!"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. Nataly 38 #6 March 18, 2011 Think I did a pretty good job of convincing that recruiter NOT to put me forward for any jobs today!! Biggest mistake - not prepared. I'm used to speaking about my experience in English but not in French - I should have reviewed the terminology, practised, and heck, even asked my Froggy Friends to grill me! It just didn't flow naturally AT ALL - I felt very much like a fish out of water. I'm sure the word "uuuhhhhm" featured about 5 times in each sentence... Not a great way to learn, but a good lesson... Thanks for posting - these are good tips. Some are obvious, but still good reminders!
