How about Stella? I've been drinking a lot of that lately on tap. It's one of the few beers I actually enjoy on tap. Someone gave me a Coors light the other day (which I used to always drink) and I was thinking this tastes like nothing! I guess I'm becoming a beer snob!
Wait , I pull what first?

True, but it's in the same class as Dos Equis, Modelo and Pacifico.

But the ones I listed taste good and not like bubbly stagnant toilet bowl. There is a difference. If I have to buy cheap beer i will go mexican any day of the week..;)

Sorry I'm with billvon on this one. They're in the cheap not-so-great beer category. B| I'll drink 'em over some other beers but I don't list them on my good beer list.

Then why does The Most Interesting Man In The World drink Dos Equis?

Just because he's the most interesting man in the world doesn't mean he has good taste :P

There is a reason Stella tastes so good, they had a little time to practice making it...;)

Same for Newcastle, Bass, Kronenburg, Harp and Guiness.

A brewery does not stay in business for centuries by making crap beer or ale.

Try Licher as well, you might have to go to Germany to get it though.

Sure they can. There's lots of crap out there. Some people like cheap crap, which is why they stay in business. (Check out what the top 5 beers are in the US in terms of sales for a good example of this.)

Doing a quick search and not having a really good source I found

1) Bud Light (meh)
2) Budweiser (a little better than meh)
3) Miller Lite (condensed fart in a can)
4) Coors Light (always tastes skunked to me)
5) Corona Extra (really?)

>I recently started drinking Hefeweizens and fell in love with them. Any
>good suggestions?

True hefs:

Pyramid Hefeweizen, Live Oak hef, Victory Brewing Sunrise, Firestone Walker hef (important note - Firestone Walker does not make any bad beers), Grand Teton Howling Wolf hef

Some wheat beers you might like: (very similar but not "true" hefs)

Lost Abbey Witch's Wit, Avery White Rascal, St Bernardus Witbier, Brooklyn Brewing - Blanche de Brooklyn

Seconded all of that and you might also try any of the Hacker Pschorr lineup. Ballast Point Brewing also makes a decent Belgian White.

There used to be a pub here in the Chicago area (if it is still around) that had over 50 beers, ales and stouts on tap.

Given the business success of pubs it is probably gone.

And Goose Island brewery has just been taken over by Anhauser Busch:(
...

The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
