y'ain't wrong! I caught it yesterday and it is fucking awesome! EVERY single performance is incredible, but Don Cheadle really shows what a class actor he is. It's a definite must see

Just saw this movie! It is so refreshing to see a movie this good.

What hit me the most was that the characters ironically weren’t the type of people I would normally feel any empathy towards. That is what makes this movie truly powerful and unique.

I also found the movie depressing. It didn’t really give me positive outlook on life. There was a little glimpse of hope, through the actions of one the characters near the end of the film that was a bit unexpected.

I don't want to spoil it, go see it yourselves!

To me it was another propaganda film that exaggerates race which therefore is racist in itself. I wonder what it feels like to be a white man, who applies for a job and is the best man for said job but is told its going to a black woman with no skills because she fulfills to quotas..... blah blah blah, if we want rasism to stop then we need to stop segregating things , films like this seperate nations.

how could a movie, something that is fictional, change your perceptions, it was an exaggeration of what a writer sees in the world.... I could say Fern Gully the last Rainforest changed my perceptions but at the end of the day, fern gully is still a catoon and there are no such things as fairies

stories, myths, legends, etc. have ALWAYS had the potential to change people. and this particular story was very poignant, and in many ways, very realistic. I saw myself in a few characters and I was forced to re-evaluate how I judge people based solely on race or perceived action, which is often inaccurate.

you don't have to agree, but it's the truth. ever read joseph campbell's The Power of Myth?

So your telling me there isnt enough truth in profiling? That profiling by looks is wrong? I dont agree, I would much rather be wrong about people but have my doors locked just in case then to be right when they come at me shooting. This is life, life sucks, nothing is ever going to be fair for everyone, regardless if it is the white, black, red, or little green men,

Everyones a racist on some level, regardless if it is to blacks whites, trailor trash, ghetto type peeps, etc etc.... but to sit there and portray to the extreme they did, and to use white people as the center of being what is "bad" .... if a white person made a movie that justified rasism would that be bad?

i'm not saying profiling is wrong. i'm not saying it's right. i'm saying this movie is a very powerful vehicle about racism. that's all. we each have our prejudices, for good or ill, and need to evaluate how they may be hurting ourselves and our fellow human beings. this movie, for some, has done that.

A very well written and acted film about various lives intersecting in LA is on DVD....
21 Grams with Benito de Paulo and Sean Penn...

I liked Crash, but 21 Grams was incredible. I highly recommend it. The emotional content was well portrayed by all the actors.

21 Grams struck me as pretentious. It was, I wouldn't talk someone out of watching it (unlike Mothman Prophecies) but... I don't know... I just didn't think it was as great as a lot of people say.
Crash I agree was good - I would suggest people pick that one up.

Bumping this thread because I finally got this from Netflix and watched it on my flight today.

All I can say is ... damn. That was one hell of a well-constructed film. For as many characters as it spun through, there was complexity in each of them. There were gray areas in each of them and how they acted and the choices that they made.

Entertaining and challenging. What more movies should be.

I'm usually behind in seeing movies, so I'm bumping this old thread....

I just watched this movie last night, and I loved it. I didn't really know what it was going to be about, but I ended up being totally absorbed through the whole story. I was afraid that it might be depressing, but actually I found it to be more the opposite. And I know that racism was sort of the theme, but I found myself more focused on the portrayal of the general struggle with the human condition. Definitely a story that I'll keep thinking about for a while.
