Trafficdiver 8 #1 March 31, 2011 Are you down? My favorite is Cuvee Des Jacobins Rouge from Belgium. I really enjoy almost all sour beers I've ever had though, and I'm excited that American brewers are starting to brew a variety of sour/funky beer over here. Had a barrel aged sour beer night at Lost Abbey a while back and people were reeling after a few hours.
Trafficdiver 8 #3 April 17, 2011 I just had a Rodenbach Grand Cru and an Allagash Vrienden last night. Both were killer. Allagash just created a Coolship (sp?) room where they leave the wort in an open tub, (about 12'x20' and 2' deep. They leave the windows open in the room and allow the wild Maine yeast to ferment it. It makes for some killer natural tasting beers. Can't wait for them to experiment more. I also had the Port Older Viscosity. Although not sour, it's a delicious bourbon barrel style quad. Can't wait to get out to the West Coast some day because the beers out there are all great, and a lot of them never make it to Boston.
LongWayToFall 0 #4 April 18, 2011 Russian River has a 100% Brettnomycies (sp?) beer, and it is great. Lets you really see where the sour comes from in sour beers. Bill: I'll have to try a few of those!
