Squeak 17 #1 May 9, 2011 I'm running a desktp PC that has XP running but from what i remember it's a "roll back" install. Does that mean "7" is on here and i can activate it?You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing? PhreeZone 20 #2 May 9, 2011 7 is not on there unless you specifically installed 7. XP will not be running at all if 7 was installed at any point in time.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

What does the sticker on the front say? Usually mfgrs will put a sticker on there saying something along the lines of 'Designed for Microsoft Windows XP' or 'Windows Vista' or my Dell just says 'Windows 7' also, look for the CoA key tag... it will say what version of windows, and have your 25 digit activation key on it. That should be what the computer left the mfgr with. Granted, my old Dell (Inspiron e1505 circa 2006) runs Windows 7, just slow and at a reduced performance. ETA: No, if you're running XP, the chances of you having a Windows 7 install on the computer are pretty slim."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

While it is still basically Windows XP, there are some differences (though, I haven't done a whole lot of testing to figure it out). It was designed to allow people to keep using their legacy programs on a Windows 7 machine, not to be a full operating system."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

The price difference between 64-bit OEM Home Premium and Pro was about 40 eur (~ 60 usd) when I bought it for my desktop which is not that much. Especially considering that VMware Workstation license is about 190 usd, although far more versatile, is somewhat of an overkill if you just want to test stuff on XP.Your rights end where my feelings begin. I get a good dealBut none of this has anything to do with the OP, he was asking if he's RUNNING windows xp, not virtualizing it, if 7 could be 'activated' which the answer would be 'no'. (minus any possible dual booting, but people who know what they're doing have hard times doing that sometimes)"I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
