"They were saying that the teachers' lounge is just as scary a place as the cafeteria, socially. If you get back into that setting, something about school can cause you to regress and care about popularity that way." that isn't right.Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. Nataly 38 #2 May 11, 2011 It's not the most well-written article, but has a lot of interesting tidbits. I too was intrigued by the idea that many school teachers continue treating each-other much like school children do... But thinking on it, they never left high-school, so I guess it's not all that surprising!! Also interesting to think that individuality and non-conformity would make you an outsider in school, but more likely to succeed in life... And that the opposite was also true - conformity which leads to popularity in high-school is not a good trait to have as an adult. Still... I'm suspicious the article was written by a former high-school geek, so not sure we can trust it entirely!! pyrotech 0 #3 May 11, 2011 The last company I worked for was pretty cliquey too. If you didn't do well in physics throughout college, or if you couldn't solve the math and programming problems during an interview, you weren't invited into our club of employment. shah269 0 #5 May 11, 2011 As the only foreign kid in an all wonder bread community I certainly did not enjoy my primary education. Yes I made friends and had an ok time but I was very glad to have graduated. It didn't help that I was a bit geeky as well. But this explains why some of my teachers were a bit "clicky" with the popular kids. But you can't fault them. They are after all only human.Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay.
