iluvtofly 0 #1 May 11, 2011 Don't mind me. I'm just babbling. But this entire week, and today especially, I haven't been able to concentrate on anything for more than 5 minutes. Maybe it's the exhaustion hitting me from not getting more than 4 hours of sleep in a single night since about 3 weeks ago (and no, the lack of sleep is not from partying, I've just been that busy lately that I don't have time to sleep). Typically at work I can put on my headphones, zone out, and get a tone of work done. No amount of caffine is helping either. I'm so looking forward to the day when I can sleep in without any worries of having to set an alarm. Unfortunately I don't see that happening for another couple of weeks. Put differently, you could also say: Coffee + Coffee + RESTLESS = Lack Of Sleep or RESTLESS + Lack Of Sleep = 2coffee Et cetera, et cetera. sandi 0 #5 May 11, 2011 It's the lack of sleep. I have chronic insomnia and when it's bad for a couple weeks it gets really difficult to concentrate for very long. Sleep deprivation can really mess you up. I've found the days when you feel like you really, really need lots of caffiene, it's best to skip it and just try and make it through the day. You'll sleep better that night. And believe me I love my caffeine. But it does make things worse when you are already sleep deprived. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Most of the time I don't even make it to my bed till 11 or 12, then I'm up for another hour or 2 thinking of things that need to be done. So then I have to get up and do them or else I can't fall asleep. And if it's something I can't do till the next day I'll stay up worried about remembering to do it, even if I leave myself 50 notes. Sleep has never been my strong point. Every so often it catches up with me. If I'm lucky I'll get a day where I don't have to have an alarm clock set and I can sleep for 14 hours. skymama 37 #10 May 11, 2011 Like John said, try some Benadryl or Melatonin or Valarian Root. One of those might be just enough to make you drowsy to be able to fall asleep faster. missbrz 0 #11 May 11, 2011 I just can't concentrate b/c I know Good Vibes is coming but I've been there done that with the no sleeping thing before & WAY worse too. It's the caffeine. I can almost guarantee it. When I was going through it, I was up to at least 8 shots a day plus a little extra now and then. I would lie down for bed & be in my bed for about 8 hours but would only sleep for about 2 & that went on for a few months. I was a complete bitch during that time. (yes the me you know is the warm fuzzy nice version of me, isn't that scary? ) I had to go cold turkey to kick it. It wasn't pretty either, but I started sleeping again. I eventually started drinking coffee again b/c I love it so much, but dont ever drink that much anymore. Just stop drinking coffee for a little while & you shouldnt need the extra pills to sleep.
