for someone who has been in the press quite a bit, how the "jetman" did the flight seems a bit...odd. he had all the green lights from FAA and required groups too.

why odd ??
you get green lights, and then a red light.
green light again just before the scheduled flight, so you don't feel ready, make a judgement call and not do the flight.
Do the flight the next day in a relaxed manner, but the press is gone because the are to mononeuronal to understand that you need specific wind conditions to land a parachute.

what's odd in that except the press attitude ?

temporary indeed, bbut I'll still call him Yankee Romeo, which is a good thing, as he flew in the US (Yankee) and got married 3 weeks ago (Romeo)
