JohnMitchell 16 #4 June 6, 2011 Great piece of history. I love those old color films from WWII. That AC was a great technology demonstrator, but actually had a slower top speed than our fastest piston fighters. That's one of many reasons why we never fielded a jet fighter in any WWII theatre. It's fun to see how far we've come since then. Better living thru engineering.
obelixtim 150 #5 June 6, 2011 Saw a Hawker Sea Fury right up the backside of a DH Vampire at an airshow one time. The Sea Fury had serious wheels, and sounded even better....Would love to take one of them for a blast...My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing....
