Jump, pack, repeat. One Hundred Times...

Recommended Posts

100 and more have been done a number of times, usually as a fund-raiser and/or a record attempt. The current record is 640, held by Jay Stokes.

These events typically require a significant effort not only by the jumper, but also by a big support crew to pack, feed, hydrate, and fly the jumper, as well as documenting the whole thing. It's not something that you'd just wake up one Saturday and say "I think I'll do 100 today." :D

640 is one every 2 minutes and 15 seconds for 24 hrs........that is fast.

Yes it is. think pac 750, other planes with turbine engines and minimum load In the back of the bus. Mr Stokes and a safety person if i remember correctly. How fast can you pea and poop and run to the bird?

Mr stokes is in good enough shape that he doesn't walk he runs.

No one is perfect not even Mr stokes he did get out short once at night and had to run back to the DZ he was MIA for 5-10 minutes. so there's two-four loads that he left on the table if anyone thinks they got the "right stuff".

Mr stokes still young and will always be in shape so he can come back any time ifff his boss allows it. The First lady of USPA;)

Hi KerLaw,

The very first 100 jump day was by Bill Hardman of Canada. I seem to remember it was in 1967 and for the 100 yr celebration of that fine nation's existence.

PS) The ole memory is still sorta working:

Canada Day (French: Fête du Canada), formerly Dominion Day (French: Le Jour de la Confédération), is the national day of Canada, a federal statutory holiday celebrating the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, enactment of the British North America Act (today called the Constitution Act, 1867), which united three British colonies into a single country, called Canada, within the British Empire.

2 years ago Jim wilson also know as Beatnik on these forums did 200 and a few jumps in 24hours at edmonton skydive.

It was pretty crazy, I got up around 6 am to go to work and he had done 5 jumps, got back to the DZ 12 hours later and he was up to around 180. I soent a couple hours helping pack and catching ( helping him get out of the rig and into a new one) I was literally land, take the rig off, get in the plane.

I think everyone was exhausted at the end of that day, the pilots, the packers, the people running around doing whatever else needed to be done. It took a huge crew to get it done!
Have you seen my pants?
