skymama 37 #1 July 7, 2011 Normiss and I are set to do a shuttle jump in DeLand for the final Atlantis launch tomorrow. I am so excited and yes, it would be our firsts! The weather is looking very iffy though, but at least the back-up dates are over the weekend at times that are jumpable. Hopefully Normiss will get his camera mount set-up so we can get some pics for you. Don't hate us 'cuz we live close to the launch pad. I'm sad that the shuttle program is ending, it was one of the highlights about living in FL. I was so excited and nervous on jump run, which struck me as funny later because it's not like I was going to dock with the space shuttle or anything. Normiss and I did a 2 way and pulled around 9000. I immediately turned and looked toward the coast, but there were so many clouds I wasn't sure there was even a launch since there was that 31 second delay before we went out. I thought the pilot might have just been telling us to get out of the plane. No one on the load saw the shuttle. Oh well, I still had fun anyway.
