Winter Bike Project . . .

>>Well, cleaned off the frame, and painted the bare metal
Good for another 40 years, yup!

Rode Nina hard for about 40 miles this afternoon and boy is she sweet! Once back in the garage I cleaned up a few wires and cables and she's starting to be a real good looking girl . . .

The contest for Chopper of the Month ends tonight at 7:35 PM and I'm solidly in 3rd place out of nine bikes. First and second are locked up, the first being a 30 year old digger with a springer that's very cool, and second going to a generic CFL (Jesse James) build, that all the newbs are so crazy about. But the other six bikes all pretty cool too so I'm totally stoked if I get third place. I was all ready to settle for fourth (best of the rest) but some late voting pushed me ahead.

Here's the latest picky of Nina . . .

In the future, if you add a cross over line in the rearn of the tanks,(remove it from the front, ad it to the rear, which can even be done between the tanks) you'll gain about a gallon of useable fuel!

That is simply one sweeet classic lined chopper!
Hoe many hours ya spent just sitting stairing at her since she was finished?

You guys can't vote over on that forum as you have to have a certain number of posts before you can vote.

On the fuel crossover, yes, it would be better on the bottom end but I cut the hose as long as possible, so it dipped and would feed as long as possible. And in any case I'll still have more fuel available that any Peanut or Villain tank.

But, if I decide I need to move it, I can still do it later on . . .

Tuesday morn here . . .

I'm off to the DMV (with a bit of hangover no less) to get Nina's wrongly printed license plate sorted. Oh God, I can hear it already. Two hours of sitting through, "Now serving B203 at window 24!"

I'm back! It's almost noon now so that took what? Three and half hours! And I did wind up on the Group W Bench to boot.

I'd already waited 45 minutes when their computers went down and they completely stopped calling numbers. The outage was state wide. I stuck it out for another hour and the system came back up. Then when I finally got to a window the lady said for some reason the computer wouldn't let her make the change to the plates, so she'd have to phone up Sacramento to straighten it out.

That's when I got sent to the Group W Bench which were a row of chairs marked for the Handicapped. And every few minutes some rent-a-guard would come by and try to roust me out. "But, that lady told me to sit here!"

A half hour later the lady motions me back to the window and says, even after calling, they are having some sort of trouble changing the plate, but she said they'd get it done eventually and mail me the plate.

So I walked out with no plate and only a new paper temporary. Now watch my stuff get lost in a pile on someone's desk! I know shit happens but what a waste of time that was . . .

Welcome to the 21st century, Nick! If the "computer doesn't say so" folks are becoming more and more brain dead. I guarantee the problems started when she went to the computer and there was no button saying "If personalized plate misspelled, click here" and the person she called had no idea either. Its just like when you try to order something at McDonald's that doesn't correlate to one of the meal pictures or your bill is $6.27 and you hand the kid a 20 a quarter and a nickel and in either case, they're lost and have no idea what to do... because the computer doesn't say so.

I think California did me a favor when they fucked up my personalisd order...I have no clue how many broken windows, morrors, and windshields I'd be doing time for, if they could have read all them little letters and numbers!:ph34r:B|

:S So what do us auto-motorists have to do to NOT have our mirrors kicked off or windows broke by y'all bikers? Serious.
