eeneR 3 #1 August 5, 2011 I am not asking from the stand point of a customer, but as an employee. It seems that anytime I go above and beyond to help out my customers I get "talked" to and told that the way I am doing things is wrong. Never mind the fact that several of the CIO's from these companies have sent letters up to upper management thanking me for my assistance etc. I have always been a firm believer in taking care of my customers as they are what keeps me employed. It seems I am just too old school these days. eeneR 3 #3 August 5, 2011 Except I deal with long term multi-million dollar customers. Not working retail here It frustrates me to no end dealing with people who cannot understand the logistics of what I do trying to tell me that I need to do it a different way. Of course what they suggest wastes 3x as much time and effort. It's your bosses that sign your paycheck. As much as you might not like doing things their way, they are the ones that have your paycheck in their hands. Actually, my company gets paid for the govt contract that I'm on. Realistically, I don't work for him (my boss) (hardly ever see him and even more rare that he responds to the email/phone calls). It may be him that keeps my pay going, but it's the military that is realistically paying me thru my company. In this one, the military is the customer, though they don't directly sign my paychecks. Also, my gripe isn't about the work I have to do for my job, its the lack of it. I am a SME for satellite communications systems. They pay me well for it... but they don't listen when I give them advice or try to show them something. Why should I talk to a brick wall for 8 hours a day vs do it for them in 5 mins and post whore the rest of the day? I won't allow the mission to fail if there is anything (my job or not) that I can do to prevent it."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

Especially if you have micro-managing ones that insist that even though you are getting rave reviews from customers that you must be doing something wrong and they know how to do it better.
