Faicon9493 141 #1 July 26, 2002 I'm a Black skydiver and a AFF & Tandem instructor. I will soon be making my 1,000th tandem jump and was wondering if there are any other Black skydiving instructors out there. I would be interested in knowing who they are and where they are. PhreeZone 20 #5 July 26, 2002 In my coaches class was one of my good friends, Mark Mosby. He's up to about 1100 jumps now and is still schooling me on all sorts of freefly. SkymonkeyONE 4 #6 July 27, 2002 Yeah, Tony Mouzon does a lot of tandems up at CSS. Mike Elliot is on the GK tandem team and also used to teach at my Dad's DZ before he made the team. James (can't remember his last name) is an army JSOC guy who works as an AFF-I (he is also a designated examiner) and tandem guy at CSS. Alsee Richardson was the first black guy on the Golden Knights "back in the day". He still maintains his SL-I and does PRO rated demos with the GB team. Actually, there are a lot of black skydivers at Raeford. Mostly military guys/gals and their spouses. Color doesn't get you a second glance on our DZ. It's all good. skyjames 2 #9 July 27, 2002 QuoteMike Anderson Skydive America~ Pahokee, Fl Mike is no color. He darker than the tannest white jumper I know though. Mike (D9493) has more tandem (TM) jumps than most of us have jumps period. Did my 100th with him (and about 12 others). No matter where I see him, Sebastian,Clewiston,Deland...etc, I always ask him if he is fun jumping. What a great person! If Martin Evans were reading this he would say, "Mike?, he can get on any jump, anywhere, anytime. In the words of my old friend James Depenna: "exit fast, fly smooth, dock soft and smile" I wish my friend of color was still with us. james "exit fast, fly smooth, dock soft and smile" 'nother james
