"The Corliss Resolution" by xkcd

For those that haven't seen it:

Jeb isn't the reason for mankind's decline, but he may well be one of the canaries that escaped from the coal mine.

What he does is amazing and has taken far more effort than most people, even some of those in the skydiving community, can understand. I literally stand in awe of his technical abilities (and even more so in his ability to market himself).

That said . . . where's the landing Jeb? ;)

I really do not want to put words in his mouth, but maybe he has yet to find the support he needs to build the proper landing pad (or whatever it is you want to call it). It will need to be something similar to a ski jump ramp and maybe it is just too expensive to make for such a "Once in a lifetime, how do we protect our asses from being sued if it does not work" kind of project.

Or maybe Jeb is either now recognizing it was never a good idea to begin with or always knew it was not a good idea and was just looking for some exposure. Either way, he has been making some cool jumps this summer based on some of his recent YouTube submissions. If Jeb stays alive and continues to make his cool jumps I sure won't be criticizing him. Live the dream. ;)

We all are ... :o

There is a really good documentary on Dean Potter from a couple of years ago. Many people may have already seen it. But it is worth the watch if people have not seen it.

In some people's eyes Dean Potter is suicidal (similar to Jeb). But in this documentary Dean shows us he does not have a death wish. He has a life wish that just happens to be more extreme that most of us mortals could ever understand.
