Quote FAA to determine if pilot distracted by sex stunt The Associated Press Posted: 10/12/2011 10:02:32 PM PDT Updated: 10/12/2011 10:02:33 PM PDT TAFT, Calif.—The Federal Aviation Administration says it will look into a videotaped skydiving sex stunt to determine if the pilot might have been distracted during the incident over Kern County. FAA spokesman Ian Gregor says any activity that could distract the pilot while he's flying could be a violation of federal regulations. Skydive Taft owner David Chrouch says he fired part-time skydiving instructor and porn star Alex Torres and hasn't decided whether to fire the company's receptionist, Torres' partner in the video. The video shows the two having sex in a plane before jumping out in tandem and continuing the act midair. Authorities say Torres had posted the video on his blog but removed it on Monday. Taft police Lt. Ed Whiting told KGET-TV (http://bit.ly/n5mzs9) in Bakersfield that no criminal charges are pending. Hey, this should be in the "Incidents Forum", right? Not! nigel99 620 #3 October 13, 2011 What is up with the FAA suddenly dropping a comment on every second skydiving related "incident"? Either I haven't been paying attention, or they are starting to be more vocal. But on subject without video/pics it didn't happen.Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
stratostar 5 #4 October 13, 2011 QuoteWhat is up with the FAA suddenly dropping a comment on every second skydiving related "incident"? Because for the last 9 months or so the FAA has been conducting a national study on skydiving operations and dropzones in order to set new standards to allow access to federal funded airports. It's a given that they will be looking at ALL aspects of the industry and in fact they are, if you take a look at all that has been in the works starting with the NTSB report.you can't pay for kids schoolin' with love of skydiving! ~ Airtwardo
