On a more serious note when some of us are enjoying the three day holiday it might be a good time to write your congress person about the inadequate treatment some of our vets are receiveing from the VA. New years, july 4, memorial day, labor day, Xmas and turkey day.. No Sick leave and the contractor kicks in A $1/hr worked for a vacation fund. The trades are not guaranteed a 8hr day, 40 hr week, or 2000 hrs/yr. 8 hrs work for 8 hr's/payThey don't get two weeks advance notice before a layoff. 30 minutes to pick up their tools if the ccontractor pays by the rules. Their health insurance is based on working a minimum number of hr's/qtr, that they have no control over so health insurance can be spotty during lean times. One year my boss (a carpenter) worked 500 hr's due to the economy. Even during a good economy depending on what part of the country their working in, a lot of jobs shut down during the winter. SIUCC's and pass the chesse there's a lot of people that have it worse than you do at least you folks have jobs. Inside jobs with flushing toilets and running water. These days for some people, any job is a good job.Amazon please please please don't give me another hug.
