BillyVance 35 #1 December 2, 2011 Not sure if you can make this shit up but it happened to me yesterday. Have to go back to the day before to start with. I snapped a picture of the fire in the fireplace and sent it to my wife who was out of town as it was the first fire of the season since we just got hit with a cold snap. Fast forward to yesterday, I saw in the newspaper that my auto mechanic's son passed away at age 30. I sent him or his wife a text expressing my condolences. In hindsight, probably not the best method. Anyway, my blackberry lists text messages in chat form, so that text message gets shown as a chat with each subsequent text sent in chronological order within that window. It was different from my old phone and I'm still getting used to it. Somewhere along the way, my phone was sitting in my coat pocket, and I pulled it out to check messages and wondered why the text chat window to the mechanic was open. I was horrified to find out what was just sent to him... that damn fire picture.... I quickly sent a "disregard picture, it was an accident" text, but I figure the damage was already done. Fuck. I'm not sure I can show my face in his shop again.... BillyVance 35 #2 December 2, 2011 I've learned since then to lock the keyboard to prevent any butt-dialing or any other weird shit that happens when buttons get accidentally pushed.... NWFlyer 2 #3 December 2, 2011 I wouldn't stress too much about; the photo you sent wasn't wildly inappropriate, just sort of random. BillyVance 35 #4 December 2, 2011 If you must know, I was out driving the stick shift with the phone in my coat pocket, getting in and out of the car. Plenty of opportunities for the phone to get jostled, still... I'm flabbergasted it would go through 4 or 5 commands in a row to send that pic... After all... I know for sure I wouldn't send a fire pic to a bereaved... wouldn't want him to think his son's burning in hell or something.... I can imagine worse scenarios... like accidentally sending a nude pic of a hot girl you've been banging, to her brother or something.... No, that never happened to me, but still... masterrig 1 #8 December 3, 2011 I'd say, the first chance you get to visit with your mechanic, just level with him on what happened. I'm sure he'll understand. Odds are, something similar has happened to him! Express to him your deepest condolences. Then too, in his grief, he hasn't given it a second thought.
