laurenmacarthur 0 #1 December 6, 2011 Does anyone know where I can buy or rent "retired" parachutes that are no longer used for jumps? I appreciate any help!

laurenmacarthur 0 #4 December 6, 2011 Thanks for all the replies. I'm actually wanting to use a parachute for decoration for my wedding- check out the pic. My fiance and I have always wanted to skydive, but we're saving money right now for the wedding. And I think it's a cute reference about "diving" into marriage. We're in Chicago but having an outdoor ceremony in a tent in Michigan so I'm not sure the exact size we need. I just thought this would be a great place to start. I'm not sure what a Triathalon is but I'd love to see a pic. Thanks again for your help- I appreciate it!

oldwomanc6 60 #6 December 6, 2011 You may also want to post this in the History and Trivia forum. Explain exactly what you will be using it for. If that picture is anything to go by, it sounds like you are looking for a cargo chute.lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB
PhreeZone 20 #7 December 6, 2011 You are looking for a military surplus canopy. Not something that is used in sport jumping since we use square parachutes that are no larger than 10 feet*30 feet in size. Large round cargo canopies come up to 30 to 150 feet in diameter so you need to know just how large of one you need before getting something way too small or too large. For a 60 foot you are probably looking at $150 or more with all its lines cut off. Larger ones are only more expensive.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
