CanuckInUSA 0 #6 December 11, 2011 I never did take a picture, but the worst bruise I ever had has from a torn hamstring muscle. Back in a 2006 swoop competition I lost my lift near the end of the curved speed course and instead of taking a donut for the round I attempted to run out the back of the course. Problem was my ground speed was faster than my body could handle and I instantly tore the hamstring muscle. The entire back of my right thigh turned black within 24-48 hours of the injury. It's a good thing the body can heal itself because I would be a real mess if it didn't. airtwardo 7 #7 December 11, 2011 Coolest lookin' bruise I ever had was from getting hit by a 95mph fastball in the left bicep, ya could see the stitches from the ball! ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
CanuckInUSA 0 #8 December 11, 2011 Quote Coolest lookin' bruise I ever had was from getting hit by a 95mph fastball in the left bicep, ya could see the stitches from the ball! LOL ... nice one. Hockey pucks don't have stitches, but I can totally believe you when you say it left stitch marks on your bicep. I once blocked a hard hockey slap shot on my forearm. It was a painful bruise with swelling and all. It's not like my whole arm turned black or anything, but for many years you could see a narrow white crease on my forearm which made me think the puck hit me at an angle. It's gone now, but the crease was there for a good 10 years or so. Edited to add: actually if you look hard enough the crease is still there. ltdiver 3 #9 December 11, 2011 Quote Edited to add: actually if you look hard enough the crease is still there. A bruise is just the cameraflyer's office logo. Speaking of 'creases' being permanent: I had a horse go over on me, backwards, and indent my leg with the cantle of the saddle just above my knee. That was almost 30 years ago and the dent is still there. Didn't break the leg, but the bruise and muscle damage was there for months. Oh, and this happened just the day before my wedding . . . think someone was trying to tell me something! jonstark 8 #11 December 11, 2011 For really bad bruises you should have seen the ones we used to get practicing speed ten way out of DC-3s. Wow! There were lots of tricks like stuffing folded up newspaper into your sleeve or leg. Even when body armor came along it didn't stop them. When someone would hit the door, THUMP, the rest of the load would groan. It was baaaad! (but fun) jon
wmw999 2,589 #12 December 11, 2011 I think mine were from a nekkid jump where I ended up dumping a flat unmodified 24' reserve at terminal, on someone else's rig (it didn't fit me as well as mine). Buckles left bruises that weren't wide, but they were deep enough that lumps were still there almost a year later. oldwomanc6 60 #15 December 12, 2011 I don't watch much TV. What show was it? I guess it would be hard having people come out of the woodworks when before you were anonymous. Nice bruise, BTW. banesanura 1 #16 December 12, 2011 It was a doc back filmed back in 10. Literally worst part of my life ever, but the filming process actually got me out of the rut I was in! I get love letters in my inbox. I pulled most of my video content offline, a few websites went down, and quit drinking (only on very special occasions) maybe once every few months or so. I don't mind the bruises, I like to poke it every now and again to see if it hurts. haha it does every time!Best Girl Scout Ever.

BrokenR1 0 #19 December 12, 2011 My worst bruise was after a motorcycle accident in Belgium. Left a nice dent in the gas tank where I sit up against it. We were using a round to pull us sitting on a piece of plastic. was fun till I fell off and found out there's a concrete water grate in the middle of our landing area...
