oldwomanc6 60 #1 December 24, 2011 For those of you who celebrate Christmas, or at least put the obligatory tree up, why type do you prefer? And why? Myself, I prefer spruce. I like the shorter needles, and the open branch configuration, so that my ornaments can hang on rather than sit in the tree. If you have pictures, please post them so we can enjoy as well. Regardless, have a Merry Christmas, all! p.s. Please tell us whether you prefer a star or angel as a topper.lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB
The_Don 0 #2 December 24, 2011 No angel, but he was a star. http://www.i-am-bored.com/bored_link.cfm?link_id=66762I am NOT being loud. I'm being enthusiastic!
nanook 1 #3 December 24, 2011 Noble Fir. Pretty needles. Here's mine. I went "retro" this year and went with c7 incandescent bulbs. Now I know why those mini-lights are more favorful. I replaced 4 burnt bulbs already and I am finding some empty sockets. I suspect my daughter, seeing me replace burnt out bulbs, is unscrewing them and throwing away. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
missbrz 0 #4 December 25, 2011 I love douglas fir. They tend to hold ornaments better & I think they look nicer. As for tree topper, my roommate is Jewish so every year she follows her family tradition... Her dad started it when he was in college. She makes a Star of David out of tin foil and we use that as our tree topper.
