murrays 0 #26 January 6, 2010 Quote And and and... US took under 17, as well. Man, I wish I was in Saskatoon now... Next year may be worth a trip to Buffalo. Wind chill is -27 F right now....and it feels colder for a lot of Canadian hockey fans out starting their cars at the Credit Union Centre. Some of the best hockey I've ever watched has been at the World Juniors. If you go have a great time! We'll be looking to knock off the defending champs ! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

It's been terrific...some great hockey moments in that span! Still have the nine year streak of playing in the Gold medal game going....a rematch in Buffalo would be a great way to continue it.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
murrays 0 #29 January 6, 2010 I just finished watching the news...of course it's all World Juniors. They interviewed several Latvian players about their experience at the World Juniors. Latvia is a small country with a total of 23 indoor and outdoor rinks. Small population, small number of players and for these guys it will be the pinnacle of their hockey career. The fans in Saskatoon cheered hard for Latvia, and the Latvian players were quite touched and very appreciative. For them, this was a fantastic experience...playing Canada, the US, the top tier teams...getting their butts kicked but doing their best. It was quite touching to see how much just being here meant to these kids.-- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
grimmie 186 #30 January 6, 2010 I put ESPN on. No headlines except that Mike Shanahan is coaching the Redskins and Randy Johnson retired, what no hockey...pitifull!We had the game on the NHL network here in the US. I wish I could have seen the game on TSN instead. Everyone in Canada is sad tonight. A handfull of Yanks are happy. Such different perspectives, Eh! And the Latvian team represents what sport is all about. So now we can battle in Vancouver next month! I'll be in Belize with a bunch of Canadians watching the Olympics. Damn I'll be so outnumbered!!!!
lawrocket 3 #31 January 1, 2012 US out. No hope for even a medal. US team just did poorly. So it may be thaat Canada is the team to beat. My wife is hotter than your wife.
Andrewwhyte 1 #32 January 1, 2012 The Sweden Russia game was great last night. Either of those teams will be tough. Likely Canada will have to beat them both.
grimmie 186 #33 January 1, 2012 Was busy with family holiday stuff and missed the Canada/USA game. Don Hay is a great guy and I wish the Canadians well moving on. Don was a fireman in Kamloops, where I first met him. Our paths have crossed a few times when he was with the Coyotes and the Ducks. A class act for sure... Andrewwhyte 1 #34 January 3, 2012 Holy Crap what a great game tonight! Regulation just ended. About 40 shots each and it's 1-1. Both goalies are beyond belief.
