Nataly 38 #1 February 21, 2012 With the stomp-down on Megauplaud, more than ever, I find myself annoyed that I *don't* have access to all that content available on the web... You see, I think Mega found a gap in the market... What they did was to re-organise how they made profits from viewing content... Instead of focusing on TV licences or pay-per-view, they got their money through the advertisers who all fought to get their marketing ads out to the public... To me, it seems like the natural progression of things... Sure, it radically changes the business model, but everyone stands to gain... Authors' rights can still be respected and copy right laws followed, and internet users can pay a small membership fee (to their internet provider) and everyone can access everything. I know it's not that simple, but seriously, I think the people who oppose mass sharing of information fail to realise that there is A LOT of untapped (profitable) potential due to increased viewership. I know "sharing" sites like Facebook have a tendency to narrow individuality/creativity rather than encourage diversity... But seriously... In such a global world, it seems silly for network/station/country to all hang on to the all the good stuff. We should share! We should ALL have access! Damn it, if there is an awesome TV show in the US or the Australia or in China, I WANT TO SEE IT!

Nataly 38 #5 February 22, 2012 Maison closes, a series by Canal + But that's not the point. I should be able to get anything. spage 0 #6 February 22, 2012 I feel your pain. Many series that were readily available on megavideo are now inaccessible. To add insult to injury, most other sites like videobb have become scared and removed almost all content. Sorry I can't help, but my searches were fruitless as well. Hopefully the major networks see the light soon and follow megaupload's business model.
Nataly 38 #7 February 22, 2012 Yeah, and you know it's not just that it was free and now it isn't... It's not even *available* anymore. And THAT isn't even the point... I really do think that on a larger scale, the LACK of sharing is slowing down progress. And I don't just mean TV... Data as well. Right now we share content, but hardly ever the raw data. Just imagine if all the medical/research data were linked - all that potential just sitting on individual hard-drives... Maybe we already have the key to curing cancer - maybe if all the info were joined up we could figure it out. Or maybe I'm just throwing my teddy in the corner because I can't watch my favourite series!!
