BIGUN 1,466 #26 February 27, 2012 We had a rash of similar mailbox incidents. I took a 4" steel pipe and drove it into a bed of fresh concrete, then filled it with the same, then welded the new steel box to the pipe. Even pickup trucks don't fare well against a concrete filled steel pipe, dumbass!!!! Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. It's a wooden post with metal reinforcing plates and brackets added on that have been painted to match the color of the wood. The mailbox itself is a large size standard black metal unit. One look at it and you wouldn't even realize it's lined with concrete. The T-bars I'm installing on either side have been painted BLACK. Motherfuckers won't see it at night next time they target my mailbox. I have installed the new post a few inches further back from the road, which meant a bigger hole, i.e. more concrete. Just wanted to make sure there aren't any accidental side-swiping like maybe by the garbage truck. That happened to the neighbor directly across the street. Last time I used 1 1/2 80 lb bags of concrete. This time, THREE bags...
