I see her quite often and she's a thing of beauty! I get chills run through me when her engines are fired up. FIFI is based not too far from me at the airport in Midland, Texas, She's a grand lady, all right!

Sorry to hear about your Friends dad. We were stationed with KC -135's etc the B-52 would leave first followed by the 135's.

The 135's were so heavy they used all the runway to T.O. Heard a rumor the flight crews didn't bother wearing seat belts

Amazing it was still a radial engine but with 28 jugs in some kind of a radial format and then they were stacked in line.

Before this thread I never heard about a in line radial, Saw the c 124'son the flight line but I didn't have a clue.

What me worry all those radials looked the same to a wuffo.Amazing the stuff you can learn around the bonfire with the help of google.

After tax time might have to try U tube, they probably video's of the smoke plume, the noise, the wet spot etc. To bad no smell aroma..... yet.
