I was working in Hollywood for a team making the DVD special features...it's safe to say that nobody was proud to be a part of that disaster...but hey, I've done worse things just to make a buck...lol.

Pfft... they don't have any really poisonous snakes in Austrailia anyway, do they?

:P

I dunno about poisonous, but venomous, yes. One or two of them are extremely dangerous though I can't recall off hand what they're called.

Well...his jump exits look real, his landings look real, the swims into ice water look real, the rock climbing, the vine/tree climbing, etc. all look real. I can't imagine the man doesn't sleep in the wild while doing the show.....he does get paid for it after all...:S

Thanks for the articles....but I did not "hear" Grylls speak, so these words are not from his mouth. Most likely used out of context as usual. Each episode states at the beginning that some scenerios are presented to Bear (staged), but that doesn't mean he is a loafer.

Bear is fishy. I saw a readers digest article saying he broke his back jumping in Zimbabwe in the 90's. Well considering there were about 100 jumpers in the country (I was one of them) I had never heard of him or the accident. I've also checked with a friend who was chairman of the zpa at the time and he has no recollection. Of course the article could be wrong.
