which musical is your favorite??

Recommended Posts

Musicals aren't my favorite, but I'd have to pick "The Sound of Music." I've been known to wander the mountains of West Virginia on a perfect weather day singing "The Hills Are Alive..." "My Favorite Things" can get stuck in my head for hours too...

When I was younger, I had gone to a couple musicals.

42nd Street and Oklahoma where a couple of my favorites

and when that woman destroys him,
that man will become a hunk of meat with the common sense of a rodeo clown! ~ Christopher Titus

Like everyone else, the first musical I saw in the theatre (rather than on video) was Cats.

I thought it was wonderful--even through my father's resonating snore.:D

I wish I'd had a chance to see that...

I love you, Shannon and Jim.

There are many I haven't seen/would love to see/wish I'd seen.:(

Billy is NOT a fan of musicals. The only time I successfully convinced him to take me to the theatre was for Stomp. And now we've seen Stomp three times--I'll take what I can get.:D

I've gone to see the live version of "Riverdance" six years in a row. The appeal is not in any of the songs, which I can't recall at the moment, but in the music and dancing. There's just something about being there so you can "feel it."

Many musicals include dancing, and that's part of the appeal for me. I love to be entertained, and I love the energy & emotion. I grew up being exposed to a lot of the arts & music, and I absolutely loved it all.:)
My poor father. It was important he be aware of such things professionally, but didn't have the stomach for most of it--and I was always dressing myself funny, running up and down the living room dancing & singing to Grease, playing the record a bazillion times & watching every John Travolta movie I could get my hands on.:D

Oh God, I haven't seen Sweet Charity in ages! "From the minute you walked in the joint... I could see you were a man of distinction, a real big spender!" What great fun!

My top 5 are...

Sunday in the Park with George (Bernadette Peters - yummy!
Moulin Rouge
Into the Woods
Chess
The Secret Garden
Because life is an adventure - it may not be the one you planned, but then it wouldn't be an adventure!

I LOVE musicals. My favorite musical is Les Miserables -- I cry every time, followed closely by Phantom of the Opera (I LOVE Michael Crawford).

My favorite movie musicals are Singing in the Rain, Two weeks with Love and An Affair to Remember.
