Funny, what I've found in my life is that the people who have "crazy things happen to them" seemingly all the time, bring those things upon themselves with their life choices. Why do I think that taking all the money you have earned during your lifetime and retiring to a thrid world country may not be the smartest thing someone can do. My experience in most of the third world is that the myriad police forces and local "important" people are VERY good at separating first world people from their money in any way they posssibly can... legally or illegally.
