are leg straps replaceable by a rigger?

Recommended Posts

Stains just add charector to a rig ;) Its a lot of work and most riggers would say send it back to the factory. Some that have the sewing machines can do it provided the factory sends them instructions on how to do it.

The best thing is just to stand up the landings and not worry about it ;)

Leg strap COVERS are replaceable by the appropriate level of rigger. Only a properly equipped master rigger could replace the strap itself.

Hello Everyone,

I am buying a new Icon rig this weekend and was wondering if I color the leg straps blue and I get them stained from a bad landing here and there can I have them replaced by a rigger if the rigger can't get them clean.

Thanks :P,
Mike

You're making a trivial problem WAY too difficult.
Dishwashing detergent and a soft nylon brush have ALWAYS cleaned all dirt and grass stains out of my legstraps, (and they are blue).

Just how are you planning on coloring the legstraps?:S

I made some leg pad coozies for the long side of the legpads on my rig to protect the patchwork. It is essentially another legpad cuff that just slides over the top. You could have anyone with the materials build these... They'll save your pads and you can take them off and clean them if you like.

Let's get our terminology straight here.

"Leg strap:" the long piece of webbing that hangs down from the hip joint, wraps around your thigh and then runs through a buckle at your hip. Difficult to repair, requiring a well-equipped Master
Rigger or a trip to the factory.

"Leg pad:" the cover that slips over the leg strap to protect it during rough landings. Usually made of the same fabric as the rest of the container, with a bit of padding. Easily replaceable, just as the factory to mail you new "leg pads" and ask your local Senior Rigger to sew on.

Scotchguard your gear and don't worry about it.Getting your rig dirty is the least of your problems:P

Getting hurt and a EMT cutting your rig off is a problemB|
