riddler 0 #26 July 22, 2012 Years ago, I bought a pair of left-handed scissors quite by accident. Can't use the damn things, but can't bring myself to throw them away. I thought about going around and asking people randomly if they are left-handed, but that sounds so prejudicial. I figure I would have to embarrass myself about nine times before I finally struck gold, and I can't bring myself to do that, either. How can a right-handed introvert left-wing liberal dispose of left-handed scissors in an environmental way that doesn't offend left-handed people? This is the sort of social angst I deal with every day.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD

Recycling the metal is "enviromentally friendly", and most lefties won't care that one pair of scissors got destroyed (I certainly wouldn't care). Or you could clearly label them "Left Handed" and donate them to a charity resale shop. Here in the US we have the Salvation Army, Goodwill and St Vincent de Paul, among others. I don't know what they have over there, but there's got to be something."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." JerryBaumchen 1,463 #28 July 22, 2012 Hi Sean, Well, I joined in '59 so he is just a kid to me. JerryBaumchen PS) Sparky, thanks for the correction; I guess the memory is starting to go. Not only do I still have the P-38 but I still have a dogtag. They both give my kids a laugh now and then. Maybe I'll give them to my grandson one day. JerryBaumchen 1,463 #33 July 23, 2012 Hi jcd, For some reason we called them P-51's back then. Or as I remember it. I just looked and mine says P-38 on it. Now if I can just find a can to use it on. I do remember it worked really good on beer cans back then. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming. JerryBaumchen
