Terminal-V 0 #1 December 27, 2004 Hello Everyone, I am about 150 lbs. and I have 13 jumps now but figure that I will have around 30-40 by the time I accually get the new rig in (family member buying a new rig because they dont like the idea of me jumping used stuff. which is fine with me) I talked to a skydiver/ rigger who owns rigging solutions and he said I would be ok with a 168 pilot main. what do you guys think. I wont be doing anything exteam with the canopy at this point in my carreer. and a icon sizing chart has a 150 to 175 bracket and then a 175-190 size which seems to make it hard for downsizing. Thanks, Mike P.S. I flutuate between 145 and 150 LBS.
Nightingale 0 #2 December 27, 2004 check with your instructors/S&TA, etc when you are ready to buy gear. depends on where your skills are at, and everyone progresses at a different rate. Personally, I weigh a little less than you do and jump a 190 at 80 jumps, and plan on staying on my 190 for quite a while yet.
GravityGirl 0 #3 December 27, 2004 That is usually the size that would immediately come to mind if a customer your size walked into my store. From that starting point I would then factor in any other variables. Where do you jump? Elevation? Physical condition? Frequency? Mental attitude? You get the picture. Sounds like you have a good resource right there where you are. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
