bch7773 0 #1 December 23, 2004 I am thinking of getting new gear, and i want to see how much i could roughly get for my current gear, to see how much i could afford to spend. J-1 Javelin, C-17 Jan 94 in fairly good shape PDR 143 Aug 96 maybe 1 ride on it great shape Triathalon 160 DOM 96 with about 600 jumps on it, needs a reline very soon oh yeah and if the gear has pink on it, that usually means a price deduction right? thats what a rigger told me once MB 3528, RB 1182
tdog 0 #2 December 24, 2004 Quoteoh yeah and if the gear has pink on it, that usually means a price deduction right? I think you picked the right year to sell a pink rig... I was just at the mall, and oh my god, everything is pink this year. Well not everything, but more than I expected...
dropzonefool 0 #3 December 24, 2004 Every time a PRD gets repacked a strike goes against it. If it gets used 2 strikes goes against it. after 40 repacks or 20 rides it has to go back to PD for inspection. ( or any combination of the two). On the lable of the reserve, it has boxes where rigger mark strikes. As for the main, if it needs reline, don't buy it (IMO) let the seller ship it off, let the manufacture certify it air worth, then sell it. For a man (IMO) buy nothing with pink in it. Yes, the reserve is marked indicating a pack job, and yes and X indicates a reserve ride, but it is not a "strike" against the canopy. Any canopy that ages has to have a porosity and stress test. And as far as a reline goes, if the price is right, I see no harm in buying the canopy and sending it off for a reline or having a local rigger reline it for you. Often times you can find a sweet deal because the owner doesn't want to be bothered shipping it in. And would rather just take the loss and be done with it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! The rig is pretty, well, not modern anymore. The reserve has some good value left and the tri will get you a few hundred. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
