Pricing a used canopy

Recommended Posts

It will need a reline before too long even if it's in good shape, which is around $200. If it were a Spectre or a Sabre2 it would have higher resale value because they are the most wanted of PD canopies. A Silhouette is a good canopy, so if it were me, I would ask for something between $800-$1000. You probably won't move it fast at the higher price but would give you some bargaining room. I myself would sell it for $8K but I always am accused of giving things away. What do other people think?

There are a couple of things you can do to determine a price. I have heard take a $1 per every jump on it off. The fact that it has an F111 bottom skin will also subtract from the price. I would think for the f-111 bottom skin take off a $300-$400
So looking a Square one web site the retail for $1440
so I would say somewhere between $840 and $740. This is just my opinion so take it for what it is worth. Also more than setting a value is what would someone pay for it. I have personally had canopies that went both ways one I put 150 jumps on and sold it for the price I bought it for, another I paid $800 for it and put 50 jumps on it added $130 set of risers and had to dump it for $650 to get it to move.

Ha ha, giving it away for $8,000, sound like a good deal to me

I'm so used to using abbreviations for money I guess I forgot briefly how to write 800 instead of 8000. Now that canopy will be hard to move at that price!

I still think he can get 800 for it without much work.

I agree with the $800.00. But it still has a couple few hundred jumps before it needs a reline.

Silhouette 190 is a popular size for that canopy. It is an awesome canopy with a strong flare. It is perfect for the jumper would wants a tame ride.
