Squeak 17 #26 September 9, 2012 Quote Quote I dont care. You've expressed enough concern in this thread for me to say quite confidently that you're a liar, I've been waiting for that reply, Thought Cheesie would hit it firstYou're confusing care with time occupation. I'm having a day infront of my BAT (big arsed tele) watching shows i have taped, and surfing about on my notebook. You just happen to be a diversion in the slow partsDo i care, no not really, but it does pass timeYou are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! Nataly 38 #27 September 9, 2012 QuoteI don't quite understand how the academic success thing is about greed. Greed: "An excessive desire to acquire or possess more than what one needs or deserves, especially with respect to material wealth" "a selfish and excessive desire for more of something (as money) than is needed" Greed is about excess and desire. Money is the obvious thing we associate with greed, but the word in its pure form describes "wanting too much" of something. To work obsessievely in pursuit of perfect grades, and higher academic achievements is greedy, if it's more than you can handle and/or starts to take over things that *should* be more important. I'm not saying I should have settled - I'm saying I have a tendency to push things too far. Arvoitus 1 #28 September 9, 2012 I kind of see your point but I'm still not buying it. By your definition Michael Phelps is greedy since all he does is eat, sleep and train (he even sleeps in an altitude chamber so he is training while he is sleeping) simply to be the best athlete/swimmer. I don't think what he does is greedy but its a sign of dedication in pursuit of a goal. And even with the dozen of olympics medals you could argue that he has had his fair share and anything more would be just plain greed but I see those medals as a by product of trying to be the best out there.Your rights end where my feelings begin. adamUK 3 #29 September 9, 2012 You told me once that wherever you go you always take yourself with you. Trying to understand yourself and your behaviours that are destructive is the first step. It's a bit like a meeting of the AA aka Arseholes Anonymous. I'd like to introduce myself. My name's Adam and I'm an arsehole.

No, no, no, and no. "Too much" is relative. Too much for me can be fine for someone else. Wanting academic/financial rewards to the point where you are totally burnt out (and taking it out on the people you love) - that is too much."There is no problem so bad you can't make it worse." - Chris Hadfield « Sors le martinet et flagelle toi indigne contrôleuse de gestion. » - my boss
