TALONSKY 0 #4 December 21, 2004 You may try a PM to Hooknswoop or Skycat, I believe hooknswoop is the one that came up with the mod and does them. Kirk
PhreeZone 20 #5 December 22, 2004 Correct. Hooknswoop created the mod. He would be the one that could assist you. If you want reviews of the mod there are plenty of people on here that can describe the difference between before and after. I'd suggest starting with BillVon or Skymedic if you want a good review of it.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

DancingFlame 0 #10 December 24, 2004 How one could determine whether 'flare mod' is installed or not? I have plenty of flare, but would like to know I can have more
skymedic 0 #11 December 24, 2004 Main reason I got the mod was to tame my openings. the added flare was a bonus. I got plenty of flare before the mod for great landings. Marc otherwise known as Mr.Fallinwoman....
tommymc 0 #12 December 24, 2004 The four upper control lines are equal length (from the cascade attachment) in the unmodified original set. The modified versions have differential lengths, with the outtermost being the longest. Contact Mel at Skyworks Parachute Service ("masterrigger1" here) for details. Hooknswoop 19 #13 December 24, 2004 QuoteContact Mel at Skyworks Parachute Service ("masterrigger1" here) for details. I designed and tested the mod. Icarus then tested it and were impressed. MEL had nothing to do with it. Derek
mattjw916 2 #14 December 24, 2004 I am the current owner of Skymedic's Safire 189 and after about 50 jumps on it I can safely report the openings are slow, predictable, and on-heading... and there is plenty of flare in the mid-range of the toggle stroke. I have never jumped a Safire without the mod but I am very happy with mine post-mod.NSCR-2376, SCR-15080
